Provide a metaview, lifting students into a wider view of the concept. Use another medium (not reading or writing) to connect students' personal knowing to the concept (i.e. visual arts, music, movement, metaphor, etc.) Involve learners in reflective production that blends the emotional and the cognitive.
Expansion of idea through line-drawing activity
Objective: To expand the idea of revision.
Activity: On chalkboard, draw a single line. Now tell each student he/she will come to the board and enhance the creation to make a picture by adding or subtracting something. Rule: No one can erase the entire creation.
