Extending Learning

Encourage tinkering with ideas, relationships, connections. Set up situations where students have to find information not readily available in school texts. Provide opportunity for students to design open-ended explorations of the concept. Provide multiple options so students can plan a unique "proof" of learning.


Have the children create a memory box,

Objective: To help the children create symbols for happy memories.

Activity: Have the children create a memory box, five objects that remind them of happy times. Have them write a story about each one of them.

Assessment: Originality, writing quality and meaning for the child.
