Extending Learning

Encourage tinkering with ideas, relationships, connections. Set up situations where students have to find information not readily available in school texts. Provide opportunity for students to design open-ended explorations of the concept. Provide multiple options so students can plan a unique "proof" of learning.


Have the children draw three noises

Objective: To have the children relive the experience of finding and being found by sounds.

Activity: Have the children draw three noises that tell them where their mothers are and three noises that tell their mothers where they are.

Assessment: The relevance of the drawings and the richness of the details
