Show one row at a time. Give students time to think.

Football, Skateboard, Ladybug, Chalkboard, Truckload (compound words)

Tree, Grass, Blue, Chalk, Truck (one syllable words)

Fork, Spoon, Titanic, Lead (things that sink)

Cork, Bobber, Oil, Rubber Duckie (things that float)

Assessment: Have students create one on their own. Share a few with the class.
