Objective: To create an experience that shows how some writing can be misconstrued if not written properly.

Activity: Hand out a page of sentences which are funny because they have all kinds of grammatical, usage, and spelling errors. Just let students read and enjoy.

Assessment: Participation of individuals.

2. Attend: Attending to the Connection

Objective: To analyze students' reactions to 1R.

Activity: Teacher asks for reactions to sentences in 1R. What makes sentences humorous? Ask for suggestions for revision.

3. Image: Creating a Mental Picture

Objective: To expand the idea of revision.

Activity: On chalkboard, draw a single line. Now tell each student he/she will come to the board and enhance the creation to make a picture by adding or subtracting something. Rule: No one can erase the entire creation.

Activity: Grade or check the effectiveness of students' revision. You may or may not have them write a final draft because you are teaching revision.
